Product Overview
SHEEN MAGIC© Hydrocarbon Sheen Remover is the easiest way to eliminate problems associated with hydrocarbon clean-up applications on the water without further harming the environment.
SHEEN MAGIC© is a new chemical formulation, which restores streams and lakes to pre-contamination quality. The formulation removes sheens normally associated with hydrocarbon
fuel spills.
Unlike most products or procedures currently available to the remediation industry, the SHEEN MAGIC© formulation is based on US-EPA LC50
and California Code 65 Guidelines. SHEEN MAGIC© is US EPA LD50 and California Code 65 safe.
SHEEN MAGIC© actually destroys the hydrocarbon-induced problem by breaking the hydrocarbon chain. The contaminant neutralized is either molecularly modified into a benign stearate, or it is decomposed into a non-toxic, non-hazardous microbe nutrient that is consumed by naturally occurring microbes in the water.
SHEEN MAGIC© is the preferred solution for problems that result from hydrocarbon fuel contamination of our waterways.
Ease of Application
The beauty of SHEEN MAGIC© is its ease of use and application. Hydrocarbon is fuel, gas, oil or grease that enters the waterways as a result of fuel spills, leaks or drips, industrial practices or mishaps, and highway and railway wrecks or waterway shipping accidents.
Fueling mishaps at marina fuel docks are one of the major causes of sheens on rivers and inland bodies of water. Almost every time a pleasure craft is fueled, either at a marina, public ramp or home dock, a spill occurs. These spills may account for only a few drops of gasoline to a gallon or more. One cup of fuel can cause a spill that covers acres of water surface.
All spills, by law, must be reported to the proper authority. Immediate control of the spills can save immeasurable damage to the environment as well as fines and levies for the person responsible for the spill.
Treatment with SHEEN MAGIC© is the best way to remove or reduce the hydrocarbon contamination of the water surface. SHEEN MAGIC© safely reduces the hydrocarbon concentration faster than any other product or method.
This reduction in hazardous contamination
is accomplished as the result of SHEEN MAGIC© breaking down the hydrocarbon into smaller compounds which then become nutrients, or food,
for naturally occurring bacteria in the water. The bacterial action removes all hydrocarbons. The end result of using SHEEN MAGIC© in your process is clean, uncontaminated water.
Treatment Measures
Treatment with SHEEN MAGIC© is fast and easy.
Small spills should be sprayed with a low-pressure mist of SHEEN MAGIC©, usually from a hand-pump sprayer. The mist will immediately react with the spill, as described above, to destroy the hydrocarbon chain. The clean-up can be seen immediately.
Occasionally a film will remain on the surface after SHEEN MAGIC© treatment. This is not hydrocarbon contamination. This as a floating emulsion of polymers from certain 2-cycle engine oils.
Illegal detergent treatment of spills will emulsify the hydrocarbons which then sink to the bottom. These heavy hydrocarbon emulsions are dangerous to aquatic life and should be avoided at all costs.
Detergent treatments may result in fines of $5,000 to $25,000.
Large volume spills are treated in the same manner as small spills, but a high volume, low-pressure delivery system should be employed until all
evidence of the sheen is removed. Do not pour SHEEN MAGIC© into the water as this is a waste of product.
SHEEN MAGIC© has been tested by an EPA Certified Lab to be a Surface Washing Agent and not a Dispersant. Sheen Magic does not increase the area of contamination, but destroys that contamination.
